The 2017 Kids Health Symposium is a free community gathering to share insights from nationally-recognized experts about ways to improve child well-being. The breakfast event benefits Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics and also includes awards to individuals and/or organizations that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to children, and stories about how Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics supports the well-being of kids through a range of services, including screenings, behavioral health counseling and care navigation.
Susan Payne
The event highlights Susan Payne, executive director of Safe2Tell - a state-wide communications system created after the Columbine High School tragedy that provides safe, confidential and anonymous reporting for students, parents and teachers.
Susan remains the first and only director of Safe2Tell, which has prevented scores of school assaults and suicides while decreasing bullying and drug abuse. She has been invited to national conferences, the White House, FBI briefings and other events to share insights from Safe2Tell and her lifelong career from a 9-1-1 emergency dispatcher, detective, school resource officer, negotiator, and crime-stopper executive.
Few people have devoted their lives to children’s health, safety and well-being in the way Susan has. It is a special, intimate opportunity to hear her speak about the connections between health, safety and well-being in school and at home – and to learn more about Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics. Please join us.
